About Chris B. Jácome

Chris B. Jácome, Artistic Director – Jácome Flamenco , touring international flamenco guitarist virtuoso and composer, has played to many sold-out solo performances and has worked alongside great artists such as Compania de Maria Jesus (Sevilla, Spain), touring musical director of Calo Flamenco, the largest flamenco company in the US with over 22 members. He has also worked with companies such as Carlota Santana’s Spanish Dance Company (New York), Tania Tandias (Wisconsin), Caminos Flamencos (San Francisco). Chris has been an invited guest artist of the prestigious La Guitarra California Festival multiple times performing alongside such top classical guitarists as Pepe Romero, Ana Vidovic and Roland Dyens. He has presented his productions at such venues as Jazz at Lincoln Center and New York City Center.

While residing in Sevilla, Spain, Chris studied flamenco guitar with some of the greatest flamenco performers of this era including: Miguel Aragón, Manolo Franco, Juan del Gastor, Juan Amador, Juana Amaya, Enrique Robles, Segundo Falcón and Cristo “El Francés.”

Chris is a celebrated and prolific composer. His music can be heard scoring the Emmy Award Winning PBS television special: “Flamenco” and on the popular TV shows “Touch“, “Kyle xy” and “Greek”. Chris was a featured soloist in the feature film “9/tenths” and two of Chris’ original songs appeared in the Cannes Film Festival Fipreski Prize winning film “Amreeka”. Chris has composed orchestral works performed by The Chandler Symphony Orchestra, The University City Symphony Orchestra in St. Louis, Missouri and the San Tan Orchestra in Phoenix, AZ as well as a Marimba Quartet with Flamenco Guitar and Caja for the SOU Percussion department.

Chris has composed, performed and released 4 albums of his original flamenco music. Two of Chris’s original songs from his newest album, “LEVANTO” have won the Grand Prize in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest World Category 2 years in a row!!!
