So much to learn and reflect upon…

Take the 9 minutes to watch this video. You will be thinking about it for a while, I promise. There are so many lessons to be learned from this video but I’ll point out what immediately jumped out at me:

1. The obvious…be thankful for every day and every relationship. Cherish your loved ones and spend quantity time with them which will hopefully result in lots of quality time with them.

2. I believe humans are gifted with the desire to achieve as well as the desire to create meaningful relationships. It seems most movies are about relationships and/or some incredible achievement despite the odds. The question this video poses…are those two “natural” desires congruent? One seemingly pushes you to go out on your own and find your path of achieving…of adding to society. The other is prodding you to find a mate, create a home, spend time with your family and cherish every moment. Oh, the challenge of maintaining BALANCE!!

3. Roles: Mr. Griffith speaks of his role as a human, as a man, as a father, as an entertainer…we all assume different roles and each one allows us to spread our wings in a different manner. It impressed me immensely to hear Mr. Griffith speak so candidly about his different roles and how at times they conflicted almost to the breaking point. What roles are we playing in our everyday lives and are they creating/nourishing/supporting the totality of who we are and who we want to be?

As I mentioned, this video provides so much food for thought. I look forward to any input you might have and please let me know your impressions of this video. A BIG THANK YOU to Anthony Griffith for his honesty and his willingness to share a portion of his story with the world.

Much love,

Chris Burton Jácome
